My favorite A'Cappella/Folk song is:
May the Circle Be Unbroken.
Do you know this song? What is your favorite song (at the moment...)? I know, everyones favorites change as the day goes on... so whats your favorite at the moment?

Wed, December 8, 2004 - 4:19 PMMy favorite a cappella song right now? Hmmm, I'll go with the Gloria from Machaut's Messe de Nostra Dame. Yummy.

Sun, January 2, 2005 - 5:05 AMI haven't heard a version of Billy Joel's "And So It Goes" that hasn't moved me. "Michelle" as recorded by the Kings Singers is transcendent, and probably my favorite. -

Sat, June 18, 2005 - 9:14 PMGeeze, I haven't heard the Kings Singers in ages. As far as an a capella group goes, I love the Nylons. -

Sun, June 19, 2005 - 3:41 AMThe Real Group blow me away. A-way. Currently singing an arrangement by them of The Beach Boys' "God Only Knows". They are unreal.
The Nylons and The Bobs were favorites of mine around 1990.

Thu, September 29, 2005 - 4:32 PMPerhaps the greatest female a cappella group (well, they often play rhythm instruments as well): Sweet Honey in the Rock. Started by THE woman who put song in the stride of the civil rights movement - Bernice Johnson Reagon.
Many, many powerful songs they've written - Ella's Song, We Are the Ones, On Children. Complex, songs that bring gooseflesh every time I hear them. They'll be in L.A. in December I believe.
