JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

The EDLOS a cappella quartet is looking for a new bass. After 17 years, our bass is retiring from the
EDLOS, so the search has begun for his replacement!

What we're looking for:

- A true bass. Comfortable singing bass lines, leads, and using a falsetto.
- Someone with experience in both "pop" and classical music. Experience in jazz a plus.

- Experience in a very broad range of musical styles a huge plus.
- Experience in small ensemble a cappella singing.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to read music extremely well.
- Ability to arrange music for men's quartet a big plus.
- Some vocal percussion ability a plus.
- Ability to do vocal "instruments" a plus.
- Ability to interact well with audience.
- Sense of humor a must.
- Ability to "go with the flow."
- Must reside in the Greater SF Bay Area.

Job Description:

- Initially learning and memorizing a large volume of songs.
- Committing to one to two rehearsals per week, daytime rehearsals preferred.
- Being as available as possible for gigs as they come up. We all make a commitment to give priority to
EDLOS' bookings. We try to keep our performance calendars clear so that we are all available as jobs
come along.
- Must be available for short tours (usually 5 days max).
- Taking on other responsibilities in the group beyond performance responsibilities. (Possible examples:
graphics work, mailings, equipment storage, trip planning, etc.). Specifics will be based on interest
and capabilities. Initially, though, learning all the music will be work enough!
- Concerts require not only performance, but help with set-up/breakdown/ loading of P.A. system,
set-up/preparation of props and costumes, etc.
- Willingness to be a little zany. The EDLOS have a very theatrical presentation that includes wigs, hats,
costumes (sometime outrageous) and various props.
- Availability for unpaid promotional gigs such as live radio appearances and singing national anthems at
sporting events (little known fact: The EDLOS sang the last national anthem ever performed at a Golden
State Warriors' home playoff game).

Who are the EDLOS??
The EDLOS are a professional touring group with a long history of performing. The group has produced
8 CD's. At this point the group performs roughly 25-35 concerts per year. Most of these dates are in the
Greater Bay Area, some of them are out of state touring dates. The repertoire of the group covers a broad
range of music from classical to country to rock to originals that mix a number of styles of music. To find out
more about the group, go to www.theedlos.com.
